SCARLET FEVER
Three cases with typical sandpaper-like rash,
peeling skin,
and diagnostic laboratory findings of scarlet fever have responded
within an hour or overnight.
I think this immediate response is due to the neutralization of the
small amount of streptococcus toxin responsible for the disease.
Although I have not seen a case of acute rheumatic fever,
I would anticipate rapid effects.
